Tasting notes for the Triennes Rosé 2021

  • EYE: Beautiful pale pink color, reminiscent of rose petals. The wine's clarity is remarkable, offering a radiant clarity.
  • NOSE: The aromatic bouquet of this rosé is fresh and fragrant. Delicate aromas of red fruits, such as strawberry and raspberry, express themselves with finesse. Floral notes of summer flowers add a light touch. Hints of citrus, like pink grapefruit, bring a subtle liveliness.
  • MOUTH: A light and refreshing texture. Flavors of fresh red fruits unfold elegantly, offering notes of crisp strawberry and juicy raspberry. Pleasant acidity accompanies these flavors, bringing balance and liveliness. The finish is clean, slightly saline, and persistent.

In short: This Triennes Rosé 2021 is a delicate and refreshing wine, perfect for summer days. Its pale pink color and fresh nose make it an ideal aperitif or a perfect companion for salads, light fish dishes, or seafood. It can also be enjoyed on its own, to fully appreciate its freshness. This rosé is meant to be consumed in its youth: it is recommended to enjoy it within 1 to 2 years of its bottling to preserve its vibrancy and fruity character.

Great local wines from Var

The Domaine de Triennes is the brainchild of two men, acclaimed by the entire wine industry: Jacques Seysses, founder of the Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, owner of the Domaine de Villaine and former associate director of the world famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Both of them were also joined by a third one, Michel Macaux. Together, they created Triennes in 1989, in the commune of Nans-les-Pins (French Provence region).

The name of the estate comes from the Latin word "Triennia", used to describe the Roman bacchanalias. Huge festivals in honor of the god of wine Bacchus, that took place every three years in the city of Thebes. The Domaine des Triennes produces local Var wines that are 100% organic (Ecocert certified), in red, white and rosé versions. The 46 hectares of vineyard, planted in a very dry limestone and clay soil, is a collection of Chardonnay, Viognier, MerlotCabernet-Sauvignon and Syrah grape varieties.
