Meursault 2015 OWC - Magnum - Arnaud Ente
Tasting notes for the Meursault 2015 (Magnum) - Arnaud Ente
- EYE: This magnum from Arnaud Ente displays a deep and luminous golden yellow color. Its hue is intense and reveals the wine's concentration.
- NOSE: The wine exudes rich and complex aromas. Notes of ripe yellow-fleshed fruits, such as peach and apricot, mingle with hints of citrus and lemon zest. Subtle accents of vanilla, fresh butter, and toasted hazelnuts add depth to the aromatic profile.
- MOUTH: The texture is creamy and velvety. Flavors of ripe fruits are harmoniously balanced with notes of honey, brioche, and toasted bread. A delicate mineral character brings freshness and complexity, while vibrant acidity provides support. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a pleasant sensation and a trace of exotic fruits.
In short: The Meursault 2015 in magnum format from Arnaud Ente is a white wine of great elegance and remarkable complexity. Its deep golden color catches the eye, while its rich nose and creamy palate offer a refined tasting experience. It pairs perfectly with noble fish dishes such as grilled sea bass or sautéed monkfish. It also complements roasted poultry and soft cheeses. In terms of aging potential, this wine can be enjoyed now, but it has the capacity to further develop for 5 to 10 years in the cellar, revealing new aromatic nuances and greater harmony. An ideal choice for lovers of fine Meursault white wines.

An artist of the vineyard in Meursault
Elected "Man of the Year" by the Bettane & Desseauve wine guide in 2012, Arnaud Ente still deserves the title. According to critic Michel Bettane, his white wines are "the most advanced [...] in the entire world when it comes to Chardonnay." The winemaker, who was also nicknamed the Rising Star of Meursault for a few years, is now considered to be one of the greatest artists of the vineyard in the Côte de Beaune.
With the help of his wife Marie-Odile, his son Pierre, and his two employees, Arnaud Ente takes care of his 4.5 hectares of vineyard the way he would his garden. Although, you need to understand that the man is a true perfectionist (and an inspiration to his brother Benoît). He strives for balance, in all things. Arnaud Ente not only seeks to produce the purest wines possible, he is also constantly trying to find a fragile equilibrium between tension and texture. Acidity and volume.
The concept of precision is very close to his heart. Everything is adjusted and calibrated round the clock... from picking the grapes to pruning the vines. Furthermore, respecting the Burgundy terroir is a real duty for him. Which explains why the yields are extremely low. Of course, Arnaud Ente only uses organic methods in his vineyard (he is a proud recipient of the French "Agriculture Biologique" certification).
