The Château Pavie-Macquin, is so called due to the Côte de Pavie, located in the heart of Saint-Emilion; the second part of his name is a tribute to Albert Macquin who found the grafted plant which saved the vineyards of phylloxera. Now it’s the grandchildren of Albert Macquin who are the owners of the castle. The 15 ha of estate vineyards are located in the heart of the appellation, nearly nine different soils with clay and limestone prevail.
