The history of this estates dates back to 1549, and the purchase by Pierre de Beaucastel of the land on which he built his castle.
Pierre Tramier bought the estate in 1909, then passed it to his son-in-law Pierre Perrin. The estate since belongs to the Perrin family.
Perrin family practiced organic farming in the early 1950's, and then biodynamics, since 1974.
Château de Beaucastel is about 130 hectares, in the northern part of the appellation, of which about 100 hectares make up the vineyard.
Beaucastel cultivates the thirteen grape varieties authorized by the Châteauneuf-du-Pape appellation (Mouvèdre, Grenache, Syrah, Counoise, Black Terret, Muscardin, Clairette, Picpoul, Picardan, Bourboulenc, Roussanne).
