In 1983, the Japanese group Suntory bought the estate to Cendoya family. The vineyard was 57 ha. Japanese group has invested in the area: the winery and castle were renovated in 1986 and the vineyard is slowly extended to 113 hectares to regain its past size. The vineyard is located west of Beychevelle, it spans two north-south ridges of serious mixed with sand or clay ironstone. The red vineyards are composed of 65% Cabernet Sauvignon, 28% Merlot and 7% Petit Verdot. The white vineyard (4 ha) is divided between 60% Sauvignon, 30% Semillon and 10% Muscadelle.
- Wine
Château Lagrange 2010 has a beautiful dark color with purple hues almost blue-ish. The nose of this wine offers a harmonious bouquet, with aromas of blackberries and wood undertones. On the palate the wine is full and silky, the finish of this wine is great with spicy notes.
