In 1866, Constant Halphen bought the castle and gavec the management to Francis and Marcel Borie brothers. Francis and Marcel Borie bought Batailley in 1932 and divided into two parts: the smaller became “Haut Batailley”, the other one, comprising the castle kept the name Batailley. Francis Borie acquired “Haut-Batailley” and enlarged the domain when he acquired Duhart-Milon in 1951. Upon his death in 1953, the estate passed to his daughter, and after his death in 1998 passed to his nephew. In 2009 the family completed a total renovation of facilities, with the reconstruction of the winery and cellars, to allow a further progression of “Haut-Batailley”. The vineyard of 22 ha is located southwest of the appellation, it covers land large and deep Garonne gravel. The vineyard is composed of 70% Cabernet Sauvignon, 25% Merlot and 5% Cabernet Franc.

Château Haut-Batailley 2010 is a majestic wine. The color of this wine is black, purple. The nose offers notes of blackcurrant, strawberry and cocoa with light toasty aromas. On the palate, the wine is balanced, supple and soft.
