Château Durfort Vivens, Second Grand Cru Margaux is located in the heart of the appellation. Durfort’s name comes from family Durfort southwest Margaux who settled in the 14th century, Vivens comes from Viscount Vivens who took the castle at its peak in the mid 19th century. Since 1937, it is the Lurton family that owns the place.
- Wine
Château Durfort-Vivens 2010 is a remarkable wine. The color is garnet. The nose offers an incredible bouquet of floral notes, spices such as pepper, cinnamon, vanilla, licorice, hints of red fruits, such as blackberry, blackcurrant, and raspberry. On the palate, there is a nice balance between richness and sweetness. The wine is rich, creamy, fruity, full and long.
