Richebourg Grand Cru 1999 - Domaine Leroy
- Presentation of the winery
Domaine Leroy was founded in 1868 by François Leroy, winemaker. Successive generations increased the activity of the estate, and Henri Leroy, integrating the estate in 1919, developed it considerably, and acquired in 1942 half of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, flagship of Burgundy. Leroy family still owns 50% of Domaine de la romanée-Conti.
Lalou Bize-Leroy, his daughter, integrated the family estate and in 1971 became CEO of Domaine Leroy. She bought estates and vineyards, extending the domain to almost 22 hectares of various vines. Since 1988, the vineyards are managed in biodynamics and the estate covers many appellations, from the simple aligoté to the grand cru Chambertin. One finds in these bottles the style which made the renown of the great burgundies. Few people have the chance to taste the production of this Côte d'Or property, as it is confidential.

- Grand Cru Richebourg
Richebourg is a name that evokes wealth. Grand Cru Richebourg is located north of the Romanée-Conti. The soils are thin, in fact only 30 cm, which causes the vines to seek deep into the limestone marl Bajocian, elements that allow their survival.
