Napa Valley is an American wine region, located in California. This area is renowned for the high quality of its wines, thanks to a Mediterranean climate.

Bill Harlan, owner of the famous Harlan Estate, has initiated a new adventure with Promontory, making the gamble of launching a great wine from completely new area.
More than 25 years have been necessary to Bill Harlan to initiate this new project, acquire the necessary land and implement his vineyard. This now extends over a very particular climate, altitude, enjoying a great diversity of soils and good exposure.

  • The estate wines

The Kongsgaard Estate currently produces the following wines: The Judge, Chardonnay, VioRous, Syrah and Cabernet Sauvignon. All these wines are produced in the estate underground winery. The first vintage from Kongsgaard was produced in 1996.

  • Wine

2009 is the initial release for this new Promontory wine. This is a powerful Bordeaux-styled red wine, showing hints of smoke, leather and tobacco and aromas of black fruits. The tannins, structured and well integrated, promise a great wine and yet a powerful vintage.
