- Presentation of the winery
Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, is considered one of the world's most prestigious areas, with a vineyard of 25.5 hectares. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti that we know today was founded in 1942 by Edmond Gaudin de Villaine. Currently, Aubert de Villaine and Henry-Frédéric Roch are co-managers. This area has become a legend, in fact, the prices of bottles reach new heights.
Romanée-Saint-Vivant is a Grand Cru of Vosne in the Côte de Nuits, it has an area of 9.43 hectares. The soils are calcareous clay. This is a great terroir for Pinot Noir, which is the unique variety of this great vintage.
This Romanée-Saint-Vivant 2002 has a beautiful purple red color. On the nose of this wine, you will discover notes of red fruits, violets, but also licorice and smoked aromas. On the palate, this wine is still young, but the tannins are already very elegant.
