Description
  • Presentation of the winery

Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, is considered one of the world's most prestigious areas, with a vineyard of 25.5 hectares. The Domaine de la Romanée-Conti that we know today was founded in 1942 by Edmond Gaudin de Villaine. Currently, Aubert de Villaine and Henry-Frédéric Roch are co-managers. This area has become a legend, in fact, the prices of bottles reach new heights.

  • Grands Cru Grands-Échezeaux

The Grands Echezeaux Grand Cru is located above Clos Vougeot, they are separated by a wall. This grand cru is a slight slope, facing east, on a calcareous brown soil, clay compound. The name comes from chezal, Chezeaux plural, which means dwelling or hamlet, it is therefore assumed that this place was once a hamlet. The Cistercian monks coveted Grand Cru Musigny, unfortunately the latter could never acquire when they acquired Grands Echezeaux to compete with their prestigious neighbor.

  • Wine

Grands-Echezeaux has a ruby color with violet reflections. On the nose this wine has notes of rose, violet, with hints of spices and undergrowth. On the palate, it is balanced, round and dense with soft tannins.
