Domaine Leroy was founded in 1868 by François Leroy, winemaker. Successive generations increased the activity of the estate, and Henri Leroy, integrating the estate in 1919, developed it considerably, and acquired in 1942 half of the Domaine de la Romanée-Conti, flagship of Burgundy. Leroy family still owns 50% of Domaine de la romanée-Conti.

Lalou Bize-Leroy, his daughter, integrated the family estate and in 1971 became CEO of Domaine Leroy. She bought estates and vineyards, extending the domain to almost 22 hectares of various vines. Since 1988, the vineyards are managed in biodynamics and the estate covers many appellations, from the simple aligoté to the grand cru Chambertin. One finds in these bottles the style which made the renown of the great burgundies. Few people have the chance to taste the production of this Côte d'Or property, as it is confidential.

The estate produces these wines:

Nuits-Saint-Georges grand cru wines

The Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair, led by Thibault Liger-Belair himself, is the result of a long family history in the world of wine in Burgundy. The roots of this history can be traced back to 1720, when Claude Marey (then the king's secretary and future father of Nicolas-Joseph Monge, the founder of the famous Domaine Marey-Monge) created the "Maison C. Marey" in the town of Nuits-Saint-Georges and began selling his finest wines.

Over the generations, the family has been committed to promoting the house both in France and abroad. In 1852, Guillaume Félix Alphonse Marey-Monge (1818-1877) partnered with his son-in-law, Count Louis Liger-Belair, owner of Grands Crus in Vosne-Romanée. Together, they formed the company "C. Marey and Comte Liger-Belair." The Côte de Nuits trading house remained in the hands of the Liger-Belair family and flourished under the successive leadership of Count Edgard Liger-Belair and his son Félix Liger-Belair.

In 1982, following the death of his father Xavier, Vincent Liger-Belair (the grandson of Félix) reclaimed the family buildings that his father had previously sold. He completely reorganized the estate and established sharecropping arrangements with three local winemakers, with the aim of passing on the estate to one of his sons. In 2001, Thibault Liger-Belair, Vincent's son, took over the reins of the 7.25-hectare vineyard after completing his studies in oenology and founded the Domaine Thibault Liger-Belair.

Today, this estate embodies the legacy of a family deeply committed to Burgundy winemaking for centuries. It is renowned for producing elegant and refined wines that showcase the purest essence of the terroir. Thibault Liger-Belair also continues the family tradition by practicing organic and biodynamic viticulture, respecting natural cycles, adopting a parcel-by-parcel approach in the vineyard, and deliberately limiting yields.
