- Presentation of the winery
Harlan Estate is located in the heart of Napa Valley, on the hills of Oakville. The estate was founded in 1984 by William Harlan. He decided to plant a selection of Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Merlot, on the basis of volcanic and sedimentary soils. Yields are very low, but it is the policy of the estate: in 2013, there were less than 8 bunches per vine, and furthermore livestock can last about 24 months. Regarding the cave, we find the greatest French coopers with superb barrels. It is through these efforts that Harlan Estate has become one of the greatest wines of the Napa Valley. Moreover, it is only from 1990 Harlan Estate has been marketed as previous years were not up to the expectations of Harlan.
Harlan Estate 1999 ruby red color dress. On the nose this wine is very open, with notes of ripe fruit. On the palate, this wine is round, with notes of exotic fruits. Its style is close to the great wines of the right bank of Bordeaux.
