- Presentation of the winery
Harlan Estate is located in the heart of Napa Valley, on the hills of Oakville. The estate was founded in 1984 by William Harlan. He decided to plant a selection of Cabernet Sauvignon, with some Merlot, on the basis of volcanic and sedimentary soils. Yields are very low, but it is the policy of the estate: in 2013, there were less than 8 bunches per vine, and furthermore livestock can last about 24 months. Regarding the cave, we find the greatest French coopers with superb barrels. It is through these efforts that Harlan Estate has become one of the greatest wines of the Napa Valley. Moreover, it is only from 1990 Harlan Estate has been marketed as previous years were not up to the expectations of Harlan.
- Wine
Harlan Estate 1996 has a ruby red color. This wine has a very open black cherry nose. On the palate this wine is round end and velvety, with flavors of black fruits. The finish is enhanced by a minty freshness.
