Tasting notes for the Triennes Rosé 2022 (Magnum-sized)

  • EYE: A beautiful pale and luminous pink color, reminiscent of delicate rose petals. The clarity of the wine is exceptional, reflecting the purity of its composition. Its brilliance in the glass is truly captivating.
  • NOSE: Fresh and expressive. Subtle aromas of red fruits, such as strawberry and red currant, harmoniously blend with delicate notes of white flowers. Hints of citrus, like orange zest, bring a lively and summery touch.
  • MOUTH: This Triennes Rosé presents a light and elegant texture. Delicate flavors of fresh red fruits unfold with finesse, offering notes of ripe strawberry and juicy raspberry. A pleasant liveliness accompanies these summery flavors, bringing a refreshing sensation and harmonious balance. The finish is fresh, slightly saline, and persistent.

In short: The Triennes Rosé 2022 is a true gem of freshness and elegance. Its pale pink color, expressive nose, and refined palate make it a perfect wine for summer occasions. It can be enjoyed as an aperitif but also pairs wonderfully with light salads, grilled fish dishes, or seafood. The magnum bottle, with a capacity of 1.5 liters, is an ideal choice for large gatherings. In terms of aging, this rosé is preferably enjoyed in its youth to fully appreciate its freshness and fruity character. However, it can be cellared for 1 to 2 years under proper conditions, allowing for a slight aromatic evolution. The magnum format is also perfect for extended cellar storage.

Great local wines from Var

The Domaine de Triennes is the brainchild of two men, acclaimed by the entire wine industry: Jacques Seysses, founder of the Domaine Dujac, and Aubert de Villaine, owner of the Domaine de Villaine and former associate director of the world famous Domaine de la Romanée-Conti. Both of them were also joined by a third one, Michel Macaux. Together, they created Triennes in 1989, in the commune of Nans-les-Pins (French Provence region).

The name of the estate comes from the Latin word "Triennia", used to describe the Roman bacchanalias. Huge festivals in honor of the god of wine Bacchus, that took place every three years in the city of Thebes. The Domaine des Triennes produces local Var wines that are 100% organic (Ecocert certified), in red, white and rosé versions. The 46 hectares of vineyard, planted in a very dry limestone and clay soil, is a collection of Chardonnay, Viognier, MerlotCabernet-Sauvignon and Syrah grape varieties.
