Description
  •  Presentation of the winery

Napa Valley is an American wine region, located in California. This area is renowned for the high quality of its wines, thanks to a Mediterranean climate. Screaming Eagle is an area of Napa Valley which is located in Oakville, it was created by Jean Philips in 1989. The first production took place in 1992 and the wine was sold in 1995. Quantities produced from 1992 to 1995 are tiny, a little more than 100 cases for 1992, 175 for 1994 and 225 for 1995, as the vines were affected by phylloxera. This wine is a blend of 85 % Cabernet Sauvignon, 10 % Merlot and 5 % Cabernet Franc. The field currently produces between 400 and 800 cases per vintage. The area is 21.5 hectares, planted mainly with Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The area now belongs to Stanley Kroenke, a businessman in real estate. Screaming Eagle certainly owe its cult status to the ratings granted by Robert Parker.
