Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Cros Parantoux" 2010 - Emmanuel Rouget
- Presentation of the winery
From 1979, Emmanuel Rouget learned with his famous uncle Henri Jayer. In 1985, Emmanuel Rouget produced his first wine. It gradually took over the vineyards of his uncle, to take the entire estate when Henri Jayer died in 2006. He continues using the same methods as his uncle. Emmanuel Rouget is probably the only heir to the Henri Jayer style of wine: fine, elegant wines, racy, fruity with a beautiful complexity.
- Cros Parantoux
It was Henri Jayer who detected the uniqueness of Cros Parantoux. In the 50s, this vintage of 1.01 ha was the exclusive property of Mrs. Noirot - Camuzet. This wine had a very bad reputation, because it required a lot of work for very little result. In fact, the floor is made of a very thin layer of calcareous clay on a bed of pebbles, the soil is therefore very poor, rocky and cold. These conditions give a beautiful natural acidity and very refreshing to the vines. In accordance with Mrs. Noirot-Camuzet, he busied himself to maintain the vineyard, in exchange for half the production. The wine was sold under the label of the field Meo-Camuzet. Over the years, Henri Jayer bought piece by piece this area, for 71 acres and 77 centiares and became the principal owner. In 1978, Henri Jayer markets for the first time the production of Cros Parantoux under its own label.
