One of the new best Rully winemakers
The Janthial family came to Rully, right in the middle of Burgundy's Côte Chalonnaise, a long time ago. Somewhere around the 13th century, to be more precise. During all this time, its vineyard has stayed in the family although it was not always exploited. Since 1994, the couple Vincent and Céline Dureuil have been taking care of these 20 hectares of grapevines (also planted in Côte de Beaune as well as in Côte de Nuits). The two young winemakers have many qualities: foresight, meticulousness and of course sheer talent. They turned their budding Domaine Dureuil-Janthial into one of the shiniest gems of the region, producing wines that you simply can't afford to miss.
Vincent and Céline both actively fight for healthier winemaking, more in touch with nature and the environment. The Domaine Dureuil-Janthialhas been certified organic since 2009 (with a temporary loss of certification between 2016 and 2021 because of a mildew epidemic so severe it had to be treated with phosphite). Vincent Dureuil and his wife mainly produce wine using two appellations, Ruly and Mercurey, but they also have a few parcels of Nuits-Saint-Georges and Puligny-Montrachet. Thanks to his hard work, Vincent Dureuil was elected "Winemaker of the Year" in 2019, by the famous French wine magazine "Revue du Vin de France".
