- Presentation of the winery
The Château Latour is one of the most famous castles in the world of wine. The castle is so-called in honor of the tower erected near the castle since 1331. In 1855, it was ranked Premier Grand Cru. The vineyard is 65 hectares, including 47 of L'Enclos, which are used to develop the great wine. The soil is composed of gravel ridges. The vineyard is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. In 1993, François Pinault bought the castle to give it a new breath.
- Wine
Château Latour is one of the most popular and famous wines in the world today. The year 1996 was an exceptional vintage, the grapes were indeed perfect, ripe and perfectly balanced. The dress is ruby red color. This wine was slightly austere in its youth, but after 18 years in the bottle, it has had time to evolve, gaining more charm and richness. This wine has a nice tannic structure, both classic, firm and balanced. It is a wine of very long aging.
