Tasting notes for the Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Au Cros Parantoux" 2013 - Méo-Camuzet

  • EYE: The 2013 vintage displays a delicate ruby red hue, offering a transparency that suggests purity. The slight evolution in color hints at measured maturity.
  • NOSE: The aromatic bouquet unfolds with subtlety. Aromas of ripe red fruits, particularly cherry and raspberry, intertwine with delicate floral notes. Barrel aging reveals gently wooded nuances, contributing to a well-balanced complexity. A subtle spicy touch perfectly completes this olfactory symphony.
  • MOUTH: The wine's structure distinguishes itself with finesse. Tannins, present yet velvety, delicately caress the palate. Delicate red fruits persist, accompanied by subtle hints of black tea and cocoa. A discreet minerality offers a rich and dynamic freshness, emphasizing the harmony of this cuvée. The extended and delicate finish leaves a subtle imprint of red fruits and spices on the palate.

In short: This Vosne-Romanée 1er Cru "Au Cros Parantoux" 2013 from the Domaine Méo-Camuzet is a complex vintage, born from a legendary terroir in Burgundy. Don't open it right away, as it will greatly benefit from 8-10 more years of aging to fully bloom. For pairing, consider dishes such as duck breast with red berries, Provençal ratatouille, or even black truffle pasta.

Domaine Méo-Camuzet

One of the greatest estates of the Côte d'Or

The Domaine Meo-Camuzet has been making wine for more than 400 years. In 1984, the figurehead of a new Burgundy generation took over from his father, Jean. His name is Jean-Nicolas Meo. A few years later, in 2003, he offered his two sisters, Angeline and Isabelle, a partnership and together they started a trading house. This would give them the strength they needed to answer the ever-growing demand.

The wines from the Vosne-Romanée estate (Côte de Nuits) are sold all over the world and the world of haute cuisine is especially fond of them. They are made with nature and tradition in mind. The Meo family, for whom the genius Henri Jayer used to work in 1945, aims to find a perfect balance in their produce, born from a wine making process with very few human meddling.
