Calon Segur Castle is located in the north of Saint-Estèphe appellation. The 93-acre grounds also include the vineyards of Château-Capbern Gasqueton. The vineyard is 50% Cabernet Sauvignon, 30% Merlot, and Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. The local domain is gravelly and hilly.

Château Calon Ségur 2010 is a great vintage. This wine has a very local though very elegant style. It has aromas of plum, kirsch, licorice, herbs, tobacco. The structure of this wine is very dense, powerful, but still elegant.
