Description
  •  Présentation of the winery

In the 18th century, the vineyard is owned by Father Raymond de Sèze, who in 1745 built the present castle. Castle Troplong Mondot takes place at that time among the first wines from Saint-Emilion. In 1850, Raymond Troplong gets the castle and constitutes the area, which is the same today. Finally, it’s the Valette family since 4 generations, who worked at this winery. In 2006, Christine Valette-Periente and her husband Xavier are rewarded for their efforts, with the classification of vineyard Premier Grand Cru Classé B. The vines are 90% Merlot and the rest is divided between Cabernet Sauvignon and Cabernet Franc.

  • Wine

Château Troplong Mondot 2010 has a deep garnet red color. The nose of this wine is rich, complex, with notes of black fruit, menthol nuances, smoky and licorice. On the palate, the wine is powerful, concentrated, fatty and velvety tannins. The aftertaste is long and generous.
