The castle has seen over the centuries a succession of owners. The area now belongs to the Vauthier family. The area of vineyards of Château is 7 hectares on the beautiful land of the limestone plateau of Saint-Émilion covered grave. The grape variety distribution of the vineyards is 55% Cabernet Franc and 45% Merlot. Ausone is one of the most coveted wines of Bordeaux, because it is very rare on the market. Ausone 2005 has a beautiful black cherry color. At Ausone more than anywhere else there is the desire to bring out the terroir. That is why the Cabernet Franc grape of great aromatic complexity is on Ausone calcareous soils where it can be expressed perfectly. This wine has aromas of red fruits, spices and wood smoke in a significantly different style of 2010, the 2005 is a true success. This is a great wine for aging.
