Tasting notes for the Riesling "Clos Sainte Hune" 2009 - Maison Trimbach (Magnum)
- EYE: This Riesling, housed in a majestic magnum bottle, reveals a straw-yellow hue with golden reflections, announcing a tasting full of promises.
- NOSE: The aromatic explosion of this vintage immediately charmed us. Floral scents, like a symphony of jasmine and delicate petals, mingle with notes of juicy peach and tangy citrus, creating an olfactory bouquet as captivating as an enchanting melody.
- MOUTH: From the first sip, an exhilarating liveliness dances on the palate. Exotic flavors, bursts of candied lemon, and mineral nuances intertwine, creating a surprisingly dynamic gustatory experience. The balance between freshness and roundness imparts an elegance that is light and airy, and the prolonged finish gives way to delicate echoes of a perfectly mastered Alsatian terroir.
In short: The Riesling Clos Sainte Hune 2009 from Maison Trimbach is a real ode to finesse and balance, offering us a tasting where freshness and complexity harmoniously intertwine. This vintage can be enjoyed from today, but do not underestimate the aging potential of this magnum (another good decade) that will gradually reveal hidden gustatory treasures. Flagship wines of Alsace
Founded during the 17th century by Jean Trimbach, the Maison Trimbach is located in Ribeauvillé (Haut-Rhin region, on the Alsace Wine Route). The family owns over 40 hectares of vineyard, sprawling across a few villages such as Hunawihr, Bergheim or Mittelwihr. In this region, the limestone soil is perfect for Riesling, Pinot Blanc, Gewurztraminer, Sylvaner...
The Trimbach Family is known for taking great care of its vines, and nature in general. One of their most prestigious "cuvées" is the Clos Sainte Hune, dubbed "World's Best Riesling" according to Serge Dubs (World's Best Sommelier in 1989), created 200 years ago. It comes from a great growth monopole called the "Rosacker d'Hunawihr" (1,67 hectare), and only 8000 bottles of this very special Riesling can be produced each year.
