Meursault Les Perchots 2020 - Domaine Pierre Boisson
Burgundy, Côte de Beaune, Meursault Les Perchots, Vintage 2020, Domaine Pierre Boisson
Tasting notes for the Meursault Les Perchots 2020 - Domaine Pierre Boisson
- EYE: The wine boasts a bright golden hue with intense reflections, a sign of meticulous winemaking and the expression of a top-tier Meursault terroir. This color sets the stage for the richness and concentration that follow on the palate.
- NOSE: The nose is remarkably complex, revealing enchanting aromas of ripe stone fruits such as white peach and apricot, harmoniously blended with buttery and pastry notes, reminiscent of warm brioche and roasted hazelnut. Soft hints of vanilla and acacia honey add further dimension, while mineral nuances, evocative of gunflint and chalk, provide depth and character.
- PALATE: The palate is broad and generous, offering a creamy texture balanced by a surprising freshness and liveliness for a wine of this stature. Intense flavors of ripe fruits unfold, accompanied by subtle spices like cinnamon and clove, a result of well-managed oak aging (around 25% new oak). A saline minerality, typical of Meursault’s finest vineyards, balances the wine’s richness, giving it remarkable dynamism. The finish is impressively long, with subtle smoky notes and a refined tension, suggesting excellent aging potential.
In summary: This Meursault "Les Perchots" 2020 stands out for its majestic structure, combining richness, aromatic complexity, and freshness. A wine designed for aging, it pairs beautifully with noble dishes such as roasted lobster, turbot with morels, or truffled Bresse chicken. Best served at 12-14°C to fully appreciate its finesse and elegance.

A Meursault winemaking family
Son of famous winemaker Bernard Boisson (who’s well known for his work at the Domaine Boisson-Vadot) and brother of Anne Boisson, Pierre works with his family and also offers his own brand of wines. Since 2017, Bernard’s two children have been helping their father run the family business. The 3.5 hectares parcel Pierre is currently cultivating is located on his dad’s vineyard, near the village of Meursault (on the Côte de Beaune).
Here, everything works just like it did in the good old days: no chemical fertilizers, the soil is hand tilled, the winemaking process takes a long time, the wines aren’t filtered… A technical work, just like his father Bernard taught him. The advice from his good friend Raphaël Coche is also a real boon to him. This made the Domaine, with its pure and tense wines, one of the best kept secrets in the entire Burgundy region.
