Tasting notes for the Meursault 2019 - Domaine Anne Boisson

  • EYE: This Meursault displays a bright and brilliant golden yellow color. Its clarity is remarkable, reflecting its purity. The wine exhibits an attractive shine and density in the glass, promising a delightful tasting experience.
  • NOSE: The aromatic bouquet of this wine is expressive and complex. Aromas of white-fleshed fruits, such as pear and apple, harmoniously blend with notes of tropical fruits, like pineapple and mango. Subtle nuances of vanilla, fresh butter, and toasted bread contribute to a rich and creamy dimension. Delicate hints of white flowers, such as acacia, add a welcome floral elegance.
  • MOUTH: It offers a smooth and velvety texture. Flavors of ripe fruits unfold generously, revealing juicy pear, apple, and tropical fruit notes. A pleasing freshness accompanies these flavors, bringing balance and liveliness to the wine. Delicate hints of vanilla and toasted bread meld gracefully with a subtle minerality, providing additional complexity and depth. The finish is long, persistent, and enjoyable.

In short: The Meursault 2019 from Domaine Anne Boisson is a wine of great elegance and a beautiful expression of its native terroir. Its complex nose and velvety palate make it a balanced and refined wine. This vintage pairs perfectly with seafood dishes such as langoustines, crabs, or lobsters. It also complements roasted poultry or mushroom-based dishes with finesse. This Meursault can be enjoyed right now, but it also has an interesting aging potential. It can be cellared for 5 to 10 years, or even longer, to further develop its already impressive complexity.

Other appellations from this estate: Bourgogne Aligoté, Bourgogne Blanc, Meursault Village, Meursault "Sous la Velle", Meursault "Les Chevalières"...

A new generation of female winemakers in Meursault

Anne Boisson, the daughter of famous winemaker Bernard Boisson-Vadot, is managing her 1.5 Ha of vineyard on the family estate of 8.5 Ha (3.5 for the parents and their Domaine Boisson-Vadot, 3.5 for her brother, Pierre Boisson). The Boisson estate, located in Meursault, is working on various appellations, such as Meursault, Auxey-Duresses or Bourgogne aligoté.

The Boisson family works in compliance with nature in all their different estates, with great respect for natural processes. A substantive work is being done on vines: no addition of fertilizer, tilled plots, manual harvesting, and during winemaking (indigenous yeasts, long aging in barrels, bottling without filtration). The Meursault "Les Grands Charrons" (over 25 years old vines), "Les Chevalières", and Meursault 1er Cru "Les Genevrières" are the most famous parcels of the estate. The cuvée "Sous la Velle" is made with 60 year-old grapevines. This estate, which was still pretty much unknown a few years back, is now one of the rising stars of the Burgundy region.
