Grands Crus from Morey-Saint-Denis

The Domaine Perrot-Minot, located in Morey-Saint-Denis (near the famous Clos des Lambrays), was founded in the late 1800's. Back then, it was known as the "Domaine Merme-Morizot", managed by Amédée Merme and his wife Esther Morizot. The couple inherited a vineyard from the Sigault and Morizot families (from Chambolle-Musigny and Morey-Saint-Denis, respectively); Esther's parents. After a successful career in the French Army, Amédée retired to take care of the wine estate, trying his best to advertise it in France, during the early 1900's.

Armand, the son of Amédée and Esther, was born in 1902. He helped his parents at the estate and ended up managing it when his father died. Pretty early on, he sought to modernize the current equipment and perfected his winemaking techniques. He then married Yvonne Aubelle, who gave him four daughters. The eldest, Marie-France (born in 1939) was chosen by Armand to inherit the estate. With the help of her husband, Henri Perrot-Minot, Marie-France was at the helm of the brand new Domaine Perrot-Minot for a few years. Their son Christophe joined the couple in 1993. He's still managing the estate to this day.

On his 13 hectares of vineyard of the Côte de Nuits, Christophe produces grands crus wines and premiers crus wines, such as the Gevrey-Chambertin, Clos-de-Vougeot, Nuits-Saint-Georges, Chambolle-Musigny... Thanks to his hard work, he was able to let the different Burgundy terroirs truly shine through his wines, in order to make the best product possible for his customers. His methods? The use of strictly organic fertilizers, the respect of the biodiversity, voluntarily low yields and harvesting done entirely by hand.
