Tasting notes for the Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2021 - Amiot-Servelle
- EYE: In the glass, the Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2021 presents a remarkably deep robe, tinted with intense ruby hues and violet reflections. Its clarity and brilliance attest to its promising youth.
- NOSE: An expressive and elegant aromatic bouquet opens its arms to us. Aromas of fresh red fruits, such as cherry and raspberry, intertwine with delicate floral notes. Spicy and mineral nuances add complexity, revealing the richness of the terroir.
- MOUTH: The generosity of this grand cru is fully expressed here. Velvety tannins provide a silky structure, while the fruity flavors persist with finesse. The balance between freshness and the maturity of the fruits offers a tasteful experience of great harmony.
In short: The Clos Saint-Denis Grand Cru 2021 from Domaine Amiot-Servelle has it all: a deep robe, an elegant aromatic bouquet, and a generous palate. It is a wine with remarkable balance, perfectly embodying the great expressions of the Burgundian terroir. To allow it to unfold even more, let it age for 10-15 years in your cellar. It will pair wonderfully with refined dishes such as grilled ribeye, coq au vin, aged cheeses, dishes featuring wild mushrooms, or a roasted duck fillet with mild spices.

Organic wine estate from Chambolle-Musigny
In 1920, Clément Tachot planted a few grapevines on the commune of Chambolle-Musigny, in the Burgundy region, and began making his own wine. The unassuming estate didn't have an official name back then. Later on, his daughter Cécile Tachot inherited the vineyard, which she started exploiting as well, with the help of her husband Jean Servelle. Together, they founded the Domaine Servelle-Tachot, in the 1950's.
After a few years, Élisabeth Servelle, the daughter of Cécile and Jean, came to help her parents take care of the family business, with her husband Christian Amiot (son of famous Morey-Saint-Denis winemaker, Pierre Amiot), in 1980. When Jean died, Élisabeth and Christian became the new owners of the Domaine Servelle-Tachot, which they naturally renamed "Amiot-Servelle". Their three children, Violette, Prune and Antoine, all supported their parents in the estate at some point. Prune and Antoine have even become the new managers of the 8 hectares estate, in 2011. They work on some prestigious wine appellations, such as the Amoureuses Grand Cru and the Clos Saint-Denis.
The Domaine Amiot-Servelle has been 100% organic since 2003. They received an official certification in 2008. Such a transition was quite natural for the owners, as Christian's philosophy was already very close to many current organic agriculture methods (sustainable agriculture, no more chemical pesticides…) This Côte de Nuits wine estate is actually one of the very few organic estates you'll find in Chambolle-Musigny.
