Gevrey-Chambertin "Vieilles Vignes" 2010 - Domaine Dugat-Py
Cote de Nuits, Gevrey-Chambertin, Vieilles Vignes, 2010, Bernard Dugat-Py
The Dugat-Py family has been making wine for more than 4 centuries, although the current domaine was only officially created in 1994. Today, Bernard Dugat and his son, Loic, manage the vineyard. They perpetuate the family traditions, working with grapes that are decades old. Their methods are very respectful of the past, but they are also looking towards the future: the Domaine Dugat-Py switched to organic farming in 2003.
Their wines, reds and whites alike, have been wisely designed to get better with age. Once embottled, after a period of two years of maturation in oak barrels, deep within a 9th century cellar, you will still have to wait another 6 to 8 years before you can taste the true flavor of a Dugat-Py wine. Quality takes time.

The Dugat-Py family has been making Burgundy wine for more than 4 centuries, although the current estate, located in the Côte de Nuits, was only officially created in 1994 (its former name was "Domaine Dugat", founded by the grandfather Fernand Dugat). Today, Bernard Dugat and his son, Loic, manage the Gevrey-Chambertin vineyard. They perpetuate the family traditions, working with grapes that are decades old.
Their methods are very respectful of the past, but they are also looking towards the future: the Domaine Dugat-Py switched to organic farming in 2003. As they say, quality takes time.
