Biodynamic Estate in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune
The Domaine Boris Champy, based in Nantoux, Burgundy, tells a winemaking story marked by a commitment to environmental sustainability and oenological excellence. Founded in 1984 by Didier Montchovet, the estate was bought by Boris Champy in 2020, who followed the same philosophy initiated by Montchovet. Spanning nearly 13 hectares, this vineyard in the Hautes-Côtes de Beaune, certified organic and biodynamic (Demeter and Ecocert) since 1985, offers diverse appellations such as Pommard, Beaune 1er Cru "Aux Coucherias," and Hautes-Côtes de Beaune.
Boris Champy, a seasoned oenologist with experience at Maison Louis Latour (Beaune) and Clos des Lambrays (Morey-Saint-Denis), imparts a precise approach to terroir expression and demonstrates profound respect for nature. Prioritizing minimal viticultural practices, manual harvesting, and natural fermentations, the estate produces wines renowned for their finesse and unparalleled complexity.
The 2020 vintage attests to a neverending commitment to excellence, with special emphasis on grape maturity and precise winemaking practices. The final result is a range of fine, expressive, and authentic wines, characterized by the unique personality of each plot in the vineyard. The legacy of Didier Montchovet truly is in very capable hands.
