- EYE: This Pommard Village 2019 displays a deep and intense red color, with purple reflections. Its color is typical of the rich and concentrated red wines from the Burgundy region.
- NOSE: Beautiful aromas of ripe red fruits such as cherry and raspberry, accompanied by subtle floral notes of violet. Harmoniously intertwined are hints of spices like cinnamon and cloves, while aromas of undergrowth and tobacco add an extra layer of complexity.
- MOUTH: A wine that reveals power and structure. The tannins are present but well-integrated, offering a velvety texture. The flavors of red fruits are supported by a beautiful acidity that brings freshness and balance. Spicy and earthy notes are also present, along with a slight touch of licorice. The finish is long and persistent, leaving a sensation of complexity and depth in the mouth.
In short: The Pommard Village 2019 from Domaine Armand Heitz is a powerful and elegant red wine. Its seductive nose and structured palate provide a complete tasting experience. It is an ideal wine for enthusiasts of flavorful and characterful Burgundy reds. With its ability to age well in a cellar (around 8 to 10 years or more), it will continue to develop even more complexity over the years. Pair it with meat dishes such as roasted lamb chops, grilled beef fillet, or duck confit. It also pairs well with hard and aged cheeses like Comté or Parmesan.

Great winemaker of the Côte de Beaune
The story of the Domaine Armand Heitz began with the Nié-Vantey family, which was well-known in the wine business during the 1860s. In 1900, Georges Lochardet, a successful wine merchant from the Côte de Beaune, married Marcelle Nié. They owned 20 hectares of grapevines as well as a few estates. Their son Armand Lochardet inherited half of the properties, which he worked on before leaving them to his three children.
His daughter Brigitte married Christian Heitz in 1983. A few years later, they founded the Domaine Heitz-Lochardet together, in Burgundy. The actual harvesting work was entirely done by Joseph Drouhin, who had a company in Beaune. Brigitte Lochardet also took great care of the vines of the estate, in accordance with the principles of organic winemaking.
In 2011, Armand Heitz (grandson of Armand Lochardet), fresh out of his school of oenology, took the helm of the Chassagne-Montrachet estate. Permaculture and agroecology were like a mantra for him. As a result, the work environment of the family business greatly improved. In the vineyard, Armand does the seeding, de-budding and composting on his own, as well as plenty of other tasks. This policy of non-interventionism, added to grapes of high quality are a winning combination.
