Provence, between tradition and modernity
The story of this family of winemakers begins in 1909, with Pierre Tramier taking the helm of the Beaucastel estate, before leaving it to Pierre Perrin, his son-in-law. Years later, his son Jacques continues Pierre's legacy and develops the brand successfully until 1978. Today, Pierre's two grandsons Jean-Pierre and François Perrin are in charge of the Château de Beaucastel.
Together with their 7 children, they work on 300 hectares of vineyard, located in France and the United States: Châteauneuf-du-Pape (in the Rhône Valley) mostly, but also Provence, California, etc etc. The Perrin Family is indeed quite active, and they're also pioneers when it comes to sustainable winemaking. In each of their estates, everything has been organically made since the 1950's.
The Perrins have settled in the USA (California, more specifically) in 1989, in the Tablas Creek Estate, where they produce a very fine and elegant wine. The children of the family have all spent at least a year of training over there. Since 2011, the Perrin Family also works with the Jolie-Pitt family on the Miraval, which has been named "World's Best Rosé" in 2013.
