Rising figure among Burgundy winegrowers, Cécile Tremblay launched her winery in 2003, on family estate. She converted the vines to organic farming and biodynamics.

She produces the following wines:

Bourgogne: "La Croix Blanche"

Premiers Crus: Chambolle-Musigny "Feusselottes", Vosne-Romanée "Les Rouges du Dessus", Vosne-Romanée "Les Beaumonts", Nuits-Saint-Georges "Les Murgers"

Grands Crus: Chapelle Chambertin, Ëchezeaux "Du Dessus"

Chapelle Chambertin produces only red wines. The chapel Notre-Dame-De-Bèze, built in 1155 and destroyed in the 19th century, gave his name to this wine. This appellation includes a dozen owners sharing about twenty parcels.

This terroir with a favorable climate and ground produces wines for keeping, with dark dress, red fruits and spicy notes on the nose. On the palate, the attack is frank, the tannins are powerful but very thin, delicacy prevails.

Henri Jayer's worthy successor

The story of this now world famous Burgundy estate, located in the tiny village of Vosne-Romanée, begins with the epiphany of a talented seasoned female winemaker, who initially didn't have any interest in working in the vineyard whatsoever. Cécile Tremblay, the great-grand-daughter of Édouard Jayer, and the great-niece of Henri Jayer, had found her calling.

When Édouard died, the Jayer family decided to lease the vineyard to other local winemakers, who then worked on it for two generations. In 2003, half of the parcel was returned to the family, and the children were asked to care for it. Surprisingly, Cécile was the first to jump on the occasion! Thanks to her decision, the Jayer vineyard became a family estate once again.

She doesn't waste any time: biodynamic farming becomes the golden rule for her 4 hectares of grapevines, located in the Côte de Nuits (she's certified Écocert since 2005). As she sees it, the vineyard is alive and must be respected. Like a true alchemist, the woman some people now call the "new Lalou Bize-Leroy" works tirelessly on her wines, helping the terroir to shine through.
