The pride of Chablis wines
The Domaine Dauvissat is a Burgundy family story since 1931, the year it was founded by Robert Dauvissat. Back then, he was one the first who chose to bottle his wines at the estate, adding his own label to them in order to build up his brand. Later on, his son René inherited the business and stayed true to his father’s values. For example, he categorically refused to use chemical fertilizers in his vineyard, because he thought it would betray the identity of the Chablisien terroir.
In the 1970’s, Vincent (Robert’s grandson) worked at the family estate to help his dad. He is the current owner of the family business since 1989. The now legendary Domaine Dauvissat has switched to biodynamic agriculture and has turned into a giant garden. Thanks to Vincent Dauvissat and his meticulous work, the domaine produces an exceptionally pure kind of Chablis, with an unequaled vibrancy. Vincent's work truly is a love letter to the vineyard.
With its 11 hectares of vineyard, the Dauvissat family (Vincent has been working with his two children, Ghislain and Étiennette, since 2013) has an output of 70,000 bottles per year. Nowadays, the Domaine Dauvissat has unfortunately stopped selling its bottles at the estate. The scarcity of their wines is actually forcing many collectors to take a much closer look at wine sellers' catalogs.
