Domaine François Carillon

Talent and diligence at the service of Puligny-Montrachet

The Domaine François Carillon belongs to a Burgundy family who has been making wine since the 16th century, in Puligny-Montrachet. Although we can find the estate's emblem on one of its stone cellars, with the mention "1611" attached to it, there are also written documents talking about a certain Jean Carillon in 1520. Through the ages and the crises (two world wars, and then the phylloxera plague of the late 19th century) the members of the Carillon family stood strong. Among them, there was Jean, Prosper and his wife Jeanne, Louis… and finally François in 1988. He is now the 16th generation of these winemakers from the Côte de Beaune.

François has been working on the family vineyard with his brother Jacques for years, under the watchful eye of their father Louis. In 2010, the estate was split in two: this marked the beginning of the Domaine François Carillon as we know it today. Since then, François has kept busy on his 14 hectares of vineyard, producing wines that can elegantly embody the purity of the terroir as well as the true taste of Chardonnay (which represents 90% of the grapevines). With the help of a dozen close friends (and his 4 children in a few years), the story of the Carillon estate will keep on going for a long time.
