Ruppert-Leroy
100% biodynamic prestige champagnes
The Champagne house Ruppert-Leroy was founded in 2009 by Bénédicte Ruppert and Emmanuel Leroy, two former physical education teachers who decided to take over the 4 hectares vineyard of the former estate owned by Gérard Ruppert, Bénédicte's father. The couple thus settled in the Côte des Bar, a famous wine-growing region located in the Aube department, in Champagne, just a few kilometers from the Burgundy vineyard.
Since the 1980's, Gérard had been focused on producing true terroir wines, using traditional methods that respect the environment (100% organic compost, no use of pesticides, etc.). The Ruppert-Leroy couple is in a way continuing Bénédicte's father's work, as they converted the entire estate to organic farming in 2010 (then certified biodynamic in 2014). A logical continuation for the champagne house.
Over the years, the Maison Ruppert-Leroy has gained a solid reputation for the quality of its natural champagnes, praised by the specialized press. Bénédicte and Emmanuel are able to offer a range of vinous champagnes that fully express the diversity of the Côte des Bar terroirs, ranging from mineral and tense cuvées, to rich and complex champagnes. The estate is a true hidden gem of Champagne, producing only 20,000 bottles per year, with the majority of the stock destined for the foreign market.
