Château Latour
Classified Premier Grand Cru from Pauillac
The Château Latour, located in Pauillac, is one of the most famous wine estates in the entire world. The castle, named in honor of the tower erected near the castle in 1331, was owned by the Bonnin de La Bonninière de Beaumont family for more than 100 years. Under their supervision, in 1855, the estate's wine was ranked Premier Grand Cru by the Offical Bordeaux Classification. Since 1993, the castle almost entirely belongs to the Artémis holding company (owned by none other than François Pinault).
This Medoc vineyard (located not far from the famous Château Léoville Las Cases) represents 65 hectares, including 47 of the Enclos, which are used to develop this "grand vin". The soil is composed of gravel ridges. The vineyard is predominantly Cabernet Sauvignon, Merlot, Cabernet Franc and Petit Verdot. Each year, more than 200,000 bottles of Château Latour are produced here.
