Domaine Morey-Coffinet

Fine wines from Chassagne-Montrachet

The Domaine Morey-Coffinet is the result of the fusion of two vineyards: one belonging to Marc Morey and the other owned by Ferdinand Coffinet, both legendary winemakers of Chassagne-Montrachet. The estate used to be managed by Michel Morey (Marc's son) and his wife Fabienne Coffinet (Fernand's daughter). In 2000, their son Thibault joined them and he is now at the helm of the entire family business, since 2005. On his 8,5 hectares of vineyard, the Morey-Coffinet family produces up to 40,000 bottles of wine per year.

Thibault Morey is a big fan of biodynamic agriculture, whose principles he follows in the estate since 2015. He received his official certification three years later, in 2018. Like many other younger Burgundy winemakers, Thibault is extremely demanding but never afraid to question his methods. The goal is to make improvements and to help the terroir shine through. For him, a good wine can only be produced by a healthy vineyard, which explains why he chose such a reasoned approach to winemaking. Thibault Morey has now become one of the biggest names of the Côte de Beaune, especially known for his Grand Cru Bâtard-Montrachet!
