Beaune 1er Cru 153rd Anniversary 2012 - Jeroboam - Maison Louis Jadot
Originally founded by Louis Henry Denis Jadot, in 1859, the Maison Jadot is a trading house run by Pierre-Henry Gagey, since 1992. He decided to follow the guiding principles laid down by the illustrious Jadot family, which has always been ahead when it came to expanding its hunting grounds (from Northern Europe to the UK, or even the USA).
According to Robert Parker in the 2002 version of his guide, the Maison Jadot, with its 150 hectares of vineyard across the entire Burgundy region and as many wines in its catalogue, is "the most respected of the great trading houses in Beaune". A company that looks towards the future but keeps the past in sight, since all the grapes are picked by hand and the wine making process doesn't require much human interaction.
