Vosne-Romanée
Discover the Vosne-Romanée appellation
The Vosne-Romanée appellation exists since 1866 in Burgundy. It takes its name from the eponymous village and goes as far as the little town of Flagey-Échezeaux. The vineyard sits on both sides of the combe of Concoeur, at 235-350 meters of altitude. The 200 hectares of sunlit slopes can output around 6,350 hectoliters of red wine each year. The soils are rich in clay and limestone, and their depth can reach 1 meter at the base of the hillside and between 10 and 100 cm just above the village.
Vosne-Romanée is also a collection of Village appellations, 15 Premiers Crus (57 hectares, for more than 2,000 hectoliters per year on average) and 8 Grands Crus, made from Pinot Noir. In Vosne-Romanée, you can also find the AOCs Romanée, Romanée-Conti and Romanée-Saint-Vivant. These are all exceptional terroirs, as great as the world-renowned estate: the "Société Civile du Domaine de La Romanée Conti".
