Italy has a rich history in winemaking, which probably started with the Etruscan civilization and still continues today. In fact, the Italians are the greatest winemakers on the planet, and the quality of their wines only gets better with time (Tuscany, Abruzzo or Piedmont are especially famous for their products).
Despite their young age, the United States also made winemaking history. The Napa Valley, one of the most prestigious vineyards of the entire country, started in the 19th century and is the home of many illustrious domains, such as Harlan Estate and many others.
As for Germany, despite its smaller vineyard (a tenth of the ones you can find in France, for example), the country has a long tradition of winemaking as well. It started in Ancient Roman times with Emperor Probus, who was the founder of German viticulture.
