Bordeaux wines and Burgundy wines are among the most famous, but there are other French regions that can boast a prestigious winemaking heritage too. Alsace, with its White wines (Riesling, for example), is also number one when it comes to French Crémants. The Rhone Valley, second best vineyard in the country, is where the legendary Chateauneuf-du-Pape is made.
Let's not forget the Jura, which is a great producer of Arbois, thanks to its slopes rich in clay and its incredibly diverse micro-climates. The Loire Valley, where the famous Saumur-Champigny wine comes from, is renowned for its rich and varied soils. And finally, the Beaujolais, that everybody anxiously looks forward to, every year.
