Other wine regions
Bordeaux wines and Burgundy wines are among the most famous, but there are other French regions that can boast a prestigious winemaking heritage too. Alsace, with its White wines (Riesling, for example), is also number one when it comes to French Crémants. The Rhone Valley, second best vineyard in the country, is where the legendary Chateauneuf-du-Pape is made.
The Jura is a great producer of Arbois, thanks to its slopes rich in clay. The Loire Valley, where the Saumur-Champigny comes from, is renowned for its sandy soils. And finally, the Beaujolais, that everybody anxiously looks forward to, every year.
